Does somebody know where to buy used books in Shanghai?

The Community Centers have small libraries. I know the one in Puxi is looking at getting theirs more active but they do have a few books.
The American Womans Club has a used book sale every year - last year it was in march. The American School has one during their International Fair (already had it in October). I've seen used books at Hu and Hu antique store and at House of Flour but haven't been to either recently.

Yep, go to Fuzhou lu (the bookstore street) from the book store area walk east towards the Bund, just as you start to move away from the stores and the street has less shops there is a street called Shanxi lu turn left (that should be north) about a hundred paces down on the Right hand side. #36 Shan Xi lu. Just found it this week. Lots of English books for about 15 kwy. Lets keep it going by dropping off (I assume they pay you something) our old books, and keep this thing going:-)

go to www.expatmart.com they are working with amazon china to aggregate all of their available english books, it is free delivery and you pay when you see the books delivered to your door, so you can check to see if everything is good before you pay.
