Moving to Shanghai from U.S.A

Hello! I will be moving to Shanghai at the end of January to teach English. I am wondering if anyone knows of a great apartment for me to check out. I do not want roommates and prefer a one or two bedroom. Are there certain areas people recommend or any advice? Also, I am looking to stay at a hostel when I get there. I have heard things about Captain hostel, but any other suggestions?

Bring deodorant.
The supermarkets have stopped stocking it currently. When I asked why, they said it is winter and there is not demand.

So bring about 4 months supply of deo with you.
It is easier to find accomodation when you are here. If you di it before hand you will have to go throught he big agents. They tend to rent the top dollar appartments.

Your employer will help you find somewhere to live. Well everywhere I have worked they have done. It is in their interests to see you settled in .

Maybe I should bring a huge supply and make a living selling deodorant. I'm seeing the possibilities!

Are you going to work here? Local employee will help you finding apartment. Many choice for you. btw, which district will you work?

Freefish, have you tried buying deo recently?

Not in Carrefour, or watsons and last has sold out from City Supermarkets. The reason I was given when I aksed is that 'it is winter'.

Will have to wait for spring or summer.
