wanting to move to shanghai

im wanting to move to shanghai from texas for a little sightseeing and tourism and if i like it, see about gaining some employment, i see lots of ads for teaching english, i would be good at it because i worked as a teaching asst for two years when i was in school, and i thoroghly enjoyed it, and i got lots of patience,
what kind of pitfalls should i be weary of``

Watch out for daft things in the contract like claw backs.
You are better coming over on a tourist visa. Once here it is easy to look for work, and your employer will sponsor your work visa. Any emplyer who will not is not serious, you can walk away.
Avoid getting into a one year contract with flights attached. Unless you can vouch for the employer. There are sharks here.

You do not need a TEFL/ESL certificate to work in china, but it can help ghet the bettter jobs
