My advice would be to go to one of the department stores and buy from the big brand Jewlers. They are usually HK or Taiwanese brands.

You will pay much more in China than you would in Europe for Jewelry. However, if you go to 'cheaper' stores there is no guarantee that you will get real gold or real diamonds.
